{"id":252,"date":"2015-03-31T17:53:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-31T10:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/?p=252"},"modified":"2015-03-31T17:53:00","modified_gmt":"2015-03-31T10:53:00","slug":"top-of-gulf-returns-to-pattaya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/top-of-gulf-returns-to-pattaya\/","title":{"rendered":"Top of Gulf returns to Pattaya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Asia\u2019s largest multi-class racing regatta will take place in Pattaya 30 April to 4 May attracting a record participation of more than 700 sailors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/home_banner.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-253\" src=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/home_banner.png\" alt=\"home_banner\" width=\"1000\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/home_banner.png 1000w, https:\/\/www.absoluteresorts.com\/our-stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/home_banner-300x93.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 11 th edition of Top of the Gulf Regatta, will be officially introduced at a press conference Wednesday 1\u00a0April at 13:30, at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok.<\/p>\n<p>Top of the Gulf Regatta is a firm favourite on the Asian sailing calendar welcoming over 250 boats and their race teams.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-90786\"><\/span>It was voted as voted \u2018Asian Regatta of the Year\u2019 at the 2014 Asian Marine &amp; Boating Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Event organisers Ocean Property, will host the press briefing\u00a0and provide an update on its Ocean Marina extension that gives the facility an additional 50 yacht berths.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the regatta in\u00a0a preamble to the press briefing, the organisers said sailing and regattas \u201cwere significant generators of tourism revenue and the Top of the Gulf Regatta continues to grow and promote sailing, sports tourism and Thailand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Regatta\u2019s sailing base is the\u00a0\u00a0Ocean Marina Yacht Club, which is part of Ocean Property. It represents a multi-million US dollar investment in sports tourism infrastructure and has undergone expansion in recent years to make it now the largest marina in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The Top of the Gulf Regatta attracts sailors from over 30 nationalities and is also a strong supporter of grass roots sailing with over 100 young Thai sailors competing each year at the event, providing them with an opportunity for international competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Asia\u2019s largest multi-class racing regatta will take place in Pattaya 30 April to 4 May attracting a record participation of more than 700 sailors.
