The award honours \u201cthe best that the travel world has to offer\u201d. Other categories include hotels, airlines, ski resorts, islands and architecture.<\/p>\n
In addition, Thailand came third in the \u201cBest Country\u201d category after Italy and Greece .<\/p>\n
Two hotels \u2013 the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok and Six Senses on Kho Yao Noi \u2013 came fourth and fifth respectively in the category of \u201cBest Hotel in Asia and the Indian Subcontinent\u201d. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile Samui island was awarded the ninth spot in the \u201cBest Islands in the World\u201d category, falling after Greek islands, Maldives, Balearic islands, Hawaii, St Lucia, Bali, Sicily and Mauritius.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
